Pietro Daprano (1971) is an art curator who specialized in photography. Among his most recent curatorial positions, in 2018, he took up the seat at Art Connection Foundation (ACF) and in 2021 at the Fuentes Angarita Collection. He has also held other significant positions; in 2017, he was appointed curator of Connect Now Room, an experimental space promoted by ACF in Miami to review the local community’s visual culture and share contemporary art proposals. He was also in charge of the Art Palm Beach Fair’s artistic direction in the 2020 edition.

Daprano’s research lines have to do with issues that affect human behavior and how people adapt and relate. In this context, he examines the influence of media and platforms in the digital native generation’s imaginary and the evolution of artistic practices aimed at developing empathetic narra-tives around our social, political, ecological responsibility, among other relevant topics.

Based on that vision, Daprano designed a support system for the photographic community during social confinement caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic by sharing resources, creating alternative routes through their networks, and promoting exhibition projects that encourage creative processes, strategic connections and motivate the mood of the creators.

He has also managed to establish a method that boosts the development of photographers’ artistic language and allows them to learn how to execute the best actions to project their work on platforms such as LensCulture, World Press Photo, Artnet, or 1854 Photography, in order to build a healthy and enthusiastic network of contact for their processes and results.
